DescriptionCzech migrant Alex Nypl left the Lugwigsburg displaced persons camp in November 1948 bound for Australia. The migrants were taken by train to Genoa, via Austria, to sail on the SS PROTEA departing 16th of November. Alex Nypl is seen here presenting the picture of the kangaroo drawn in chalk on the side of the train.
