DescriptionA hardcover album of engraved views titled 'Album of Sydney Views'. Above the title is a coat of arms flanked by a kangaroo and emu and a banner reading 'Advance Australia'. Other decoration is a depiction of Hyde Park featuring the statue of Captain James Cook by Thomas Woolner. Inside the album are engravings of old and newer illustrations including the Queen Victoria Building (completed 1898).SignificanceThis 'Album of Sydney Views ' highlights the importance of Sydney harbour to the city's history and illustrates how the city grew around the harbour waterways.
