DescriptionBoard game titled 'The Voyage of the First Fleeters 1787-1788'.HistoryProduced to commemorate the 1988 Bicentenary of the voyage of the First Fleet in 1787-88, this family game was targeted at ages 10 to adult. This children's game explores the 1787-88 voyage of the British First fleet to Australia under the command of Captain Arthur Phillip. It features a fold out map of the world with the game track punctuated by ports of call and events on such a voyage including provisioning, lost seamen, a lost cow, lost topmasts, strong headwinds, cargo shifts and convict breakouts. The rule book features considerable actual historical detail about the ships and the voyage from Portsmouth to Botany Bay Jan 20, and then to Sydney Cove January 26 that has value in exploring foundation narratives of Australian history.
