DescriptionA set of 11 (one missing) brass water sampling bottles in a wooden case. It was labelled as ‘old water samplers’ by CSIRO. The provenance and age of this object is unknown but believed to date to the mid-to-late nineteenth century.SignificanceSo far, the significance of this brass water sampling system is that it seems to be the only example of its type still extant and therefore should be acquired by the museum for further research to accurately determine its construction and use details. A query has been sent to Science Museum, London for further information.
