DescriptionThe North German Lloyd passenger ship KÖNIGIN LUISE was Flagship of the Anniversary Regatta in 1898 and 1899. HMS ROYAL ARTHUR, flagship of the Australia Station from 1897 to 1904, is in the background to the far right. In the January 1898 regatta, KÖNIGIN LUISE was moored near Lavender Bay and in the 1899 regatta it was moored near Neutral Bay; therefore this photograph is likely to be from the 1898 regatta. The Milsons Point ferry and cable terminal appears to the left of the vessel.
