DescriptionThese are either 22-footers or 24-footers racing off Balmain. It could either be the Balmain Regatta or possibly an event of the Johnstones Bay Sailing Club, or the Balmain Amateur Sailing Club. The boats are displaying no coloured insignias which began to be used in the early 1890's. The dominance of these larger open boats ended in the first years of the 20th Century but many of the boats continued to race in suburban clubs like the Balmain Amateurs until the First World War (IS).
