DescriptionMixed fleets of 18-footers and 16-foot skiffs manouevre off Cremorne. This is almost certainly the Anniversary Day Regatta on 26 January 1933. The 16-foot skiffs are unidentified, but the 18-footers include ARLINE with diamond and bar, PASTIME with horseshoe, ABERDARE with black diamond, HC PRESS with two bars and SHAMROCK with shamrock (IS).SignificanceThe Hall photographic collection provides an important pictorial record of recreational boating in Sydney Harbour from the 1890s to the 1930s. The collection documents the lively sailing scene in Sydney during this period and features images of vessels ranging from large racing and cruising yachts to the great array of skiffs and the emerging technologies of motorboats. Images of many of Sydney Harbour's historic sailing clubs and events are also included in this visual record.
