SignificanceThe Hall photographic collection provides an important pictorial record of Sydney from the 1890s to the 1930s. The collection mainly documents the lively sailing scene in Sydney during this period, however portraits and livestock photography are also included in this photographic collection. During his lifetime, William James Hall became known as one of the best livestock photographers and was in high demand during Sydney show season.
