Dated 13 December 1937, the letter hopes Oskar has made it to Thursday Island, thanks him for a photograph send, mentions the EMDEM has been visiting, and he and the crew of the EMDEM wish him the best of luck.
Note that the date of this letter is the 1930s - it is not the SMS EMDEN which was destroyed in battle with HMAS SYDNEY in World War I
