BiographyLionel Wafer (1640-1705) was a Welsh explorer and buccaneer who made several voyages to the Malay Archipelago and America. He colaborated with William Dampier and wrote a section, titled 'A New Voyage and Description of the Isthmus of America', for Dampier's 1729 edition of 'A Voyage to New Holland, &c. In the year 1699'.
