Elijah Albert Cox1876 - 1955
Elijah Albert Cox was born in Islington, England in 1876 and became a well known poster, painter and mural artist. He received commissions from railway and shipping companies and the Empire Marketing Board. Although best known for his posters and murals, Cox also illustrated books and made non-commercial artworks. Between 1915 and 1926 he worked for the London Underground producing posters advertising rail travel.
