BiographyJames Capper was a colonel with the Honorable East India Company, whom he had served from a young age. He also acted as Comptroller-General of the army and fortification accounts on the coast of Coromandel. After retiring from military service Capper lived in South Wales, pursing his interest in meteorology and agriculture.
