BiographyThomas Wells was born in Illinois, 1916 and was an artist who worked on the West Coast of the United States. He sailed on square rigged vessels in Greenland, Nova Scotia, Gloucester, Cape Horn and Australia, developing a strong love of the sea. He is arguably one of the most technically accurate ship portraitists and gained his expertise through spending time working vessels.
