Thomas MuirScottish, 1765 - 1799

An advocate for parliamentary and consitutional reform and Vice-president of the newly formed Glasgow Associated Friends of the Constitution, he was convicted in 1793 for sedition he was sentanced to 14 years transportation. He arrived in New South Wales in 1794 with the other Scottish Martyrs Thomas Palmer, William Skirving and Maurice Margarot (and later Joseph Gerrald). He escaped in 1796 losing an eye in an naval battle with the British. He died in France in 1799.
