John Pollnitz

BiographyJohn Pollnitz built SNOOPY, a marblehead class vane controlled racing yacht in South Australia 1969 - 1970. SNOOPY won the Australian marblehead class championships in 1977, and was raced fortnightly until 1978.

SNOOPY was designed by S Witty and was one of the last of the vane steered models to be built and sailed before the introduction of radio controlled yachts in the 1970s. In 1971 the first Australian marblehead ("M" Class) championship was held in New South Wales at Scarborough park, Kogarah.

John pollnitz has also successfully raced radio controlled yachts winning the 1977 RA championship with the super heavyweight kubernetes design yacht SIRIUS.
