BiographyGeoffrey Haggard was born in 1888 in London. His career in the Royal Navy began in 1903. In 1910 he was transferred to submarines. He served on the Royal Australian Navy's submarine AE2. When the AE2 was scuttled in the Dardanelles in 1915 he became a prisoner of war of the Turks till 1919. In 1919 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (DSC). In 1920 he was appointed Aide-de-Camp to the new Governor of Victoria the Earl of Strathbrook. After his term he settled in Victoria as a farmer in the Yarra Vallery. He married Margery Syme in 1923. He died in 1939 after being accepted into the Royal Australian Navy.
