Event DescriptionHMAS ASSAIL was one of twenty ATTACK class patrol boats ordered for the Royal Australian Navy in 1965. ASSAIL was launched at Kangaroo Point shipyard on 18 November 1967 by Mrs Lyla Landau, the wife of Samuel Landau, the Secretary of the Naval Board. HMAS ASSAIL was commissioned into naval service in Brisbane on 12 July 1968.
