DescriptionThis collection of certificates of discharge and surveys for vessels was assembled by Alan Rice whilst serving as a merchant seaman in the Australian coastal trade. It includes Commonwealth of Australia certificates of discharge for the seamen Robert Brookes (24 September 1970), Riseley (7 March 1979), and Robert W Ritch (7 January 1929 - 24 October 1932); crossing of the line certificates for Harry Hermann Henricks and Mrs M Peake; one cargo ship safety construction certificate and one provisional load line certificate for the tanker MOBIL AUSTRALIS; one harbour certificate for MS CAPTAIN PHILLIP; one certificate for MB GURUGAL; survey certificates for MURRAY PORTER; one certificate of test of chain cable for shackle for U2A stud link; one survey for freeboard for TROUBRIDGE N D; one certificate of survey for no 6 barge; two harbour certificate for steamship PONRABBEL and PONRABBEL II and certificates of survey for MURRAY PORTER (equipment only).
