DescriptionThis archive series numbered [001] - [005] consists of design plans by Lock Crowther of the 40-foot ocean racing trimaran VERBATIM, including plans of the deck layout, bulkheads, daggerboard, rudder and float lines. VERBATIM (formerly BALENA and BULLFROG) was built by Ian Johnston and Cathy Hawkins in northern New South Wales, and launched in 1985. The couple won a number of shorthand events in the vessel and set several records, and Cathy sailed VERBATIM solo across the Tasman Sea, becoming the first woman to do so in a multihull vessel.
