DescriptionThis program for the Brisbane Sailing Club's Complimentary Regatta at Milton Beach was held in 1896. In this event William H Golding raced his own yacht YVONNE for the Sydney Flying Squadron. Competitive sailing in the 19th century provided a means of social and sporting recreation for the Australian public. He constructed yachts and skiffs including ITONIA, FLORRIE, MISCHIEF, BETTY, EILEEN, GOLDIE, BROTHERS and SENGA. He was also actively involved in racing the vessels he designed.
