DescriptionPainting by by Daphne Wallace titled 'The One that Got away'. The artwork depicts a river scene where each piece represents a specific species of river fish. As told by Daphne Wallace "'The Big One that Got Away" tells the story of a fishing trip. A couple of cars full of Murri & Koori men went out for a full days fishing. When they returned home they all very happy but they had no fish & told the story of how the big one that got away. Every time they told the story, the fish got bigger and bigger". The artist was responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and collecting the material used in this painting.
