DescriptionThis shark fishing hook was stored in a Rothmans Kings Gate Virginia tobacco tin by Basil Helm, a pipe smoker. The tin also contained three more shark fishing hooks, one small fishing hook and three lead sinkers.SignificanceThis is an excellent example of shipboard personal items from a Burns Philp line captain at the height of Burns Philp operations during the mid-twentieth century.
