Henry Hauenstein was a member of Australia's first Olympic eights rowing team, competing at the Stockholm Olympics in 1912. They trained and competed in England before travelling to compete at Stockholm.HistoryHenry Hauenstein was born on May 3, 1881 in Sydney, New South Wales. Hauenstein was a member of the Leichhardt Rowing Club and was the first eight-oared representative to row in state crews. He competed in state teams in 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910 and 1911; winning in 1908, 1910 and 1911. In 1912 he rowed as (5) in the Men's Coxed Eights team at the Stockholm Olympics.
