DescriptionThis green Bri-nylon one piece swimsuit was made in Australia by Speedo. The company produced lightweight, streamlined swimsuits designed for competitive swimming after the success of Australia's Olympic swimmers in the 1950s and 1960s, and became synonymous with the nation's swimming success. This swimsuit has a scooped neck, a v-shaped back, elasticised legs and a quarter skirt decorated with the Speedo logo.HistoryIn the 1950s and early 1960s swimsuits were often shaped with panelling and built-in supports to create a curvaceous, ultra-feminine silhouette emphasising the bust, waistline and hips.
