Description10 foot skiff CORNSTALK at the 1928 Anniversary Regatta on Sydney Harbour. The skiff was sailed by G. Conway and owned by G. Conway and G. Paull. The verso has the handwritten results of the race 'Result: GERARD 1, KANGAROO 2, CORNSTALK 3, won by 5 min 3 sec between 2 & 3'.SignificanceThe Hall collection provides an important pictorial record of recreational boating in Sydney Harbour, from the 1890s to the 1930s – from large racing and cruising yachts, to the many and varied skiffs jostling on the harbour, to the new phenomenon of motor boating in the early twentieth century . The collection also includes images of the many spectators and crowds who followed the sailing races.
