HistoryN.V. Werf Gusto Firma v/h A.F. Smulders was a Dutch shipbuilding and engineering company located in Schiedam in the Netherlands. It operated from 1862 - 1962. Schäffer and Budenberg (S&B) specialised in making gauges, their partnership began in 1850 when they began to make gauges in the East German town of Buckau (Magdeburg). The company opened a branch in Manchester in 1854. This branch was nationalised in WWI. After the war it was sold back to the Budenberg family becoming Budenberg Gauge Co Ltd. The company is still in business today.
