DescriptionBlack and white photographic image of the Bathing Pool at Avalon Beach.HistoryThe first Avalon Beach rock pool was constructed by Warringah Council in March 1917 with the residents paying the £30 cost. The rectangular pool was excavated in the rock shelf on the south end of the beach and measured about 12m x 5.5m. In 1922, the rock pool was lengthened and a ladies dressing room was built.
