DescriptionPostcard of the P&O Line SS MONGOLIA, part of the India -China- Australia mail service.HistoryThe SS MONGOLIA was a steam turbine-driven twin-screw passenger-and-cargo liner launched in 1922 for P&O. For most of her life she travelled the India-China-Australia route. Later the MONGOLIA was renamed the SS RIMUTAKA and sailed to New Zealand. Througout WWII she was not converted to an armed cruiser but did remain on the England to New Zealand route. Again in 1950 she was renamed to SS EUROPA and became an immigrant from Europe to America and Canada. She later returned to cruising as the SS NASSAU in the Caribbean and ended her her working life as the SS ACAPULCO on the run rom Los Angeles to Mexico. She was scrapped in 1963
