DescriptionOne of 74 merchant vessels requisitioned by the Australian Government to serve as troopships in WWI, the 6,600 ton former Huddart Parker liner SS Zealandia was, like many ships, painted in ‘dazzle’ ocean camouflage paint. Shown here in Sydney Harbour, during the war it was known as HMAT Zealandia (His Majesty’s Australian Transport).
