DescriptionThis archive series numbered [001] - [070] consists of material collected by Sydney sailor Charles Cooper relating to the inaugural 1945 and 1946 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and the Cruising Yacht Club.
It includes 46 letters from the Cruising Yacht Club, Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club, Royal Ocean Racing Club, Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, Middle Harbour Cruising Yachts Association, Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, Royal Naval Fleet, Maritime Services Board, and various newspapers between 1945 and 1946.
In addition are 12 telegrams, a course plan, meeting minutes, emergency notice, draft rules, draft press release, official list of entrants, speech, article, race rules and other correspondence.
