BiographyEdgar Whitbread, a member of the Painter's and Decorator's Union, painted a large number of banners in the early 1900s, mostly in a workshop in his own yard in Earlwood. Whitbread continued to work for unions, repairing the banners after each year’s parade, when wind and rain would do much damage, until 1956.
