William Forster

William Forster was one of the better Australian ship portraitists of the late 19th century. His work covered shipping around Sydney and Newcastle and also, in his early years in New Zealand. His paintings are characterised by fine and delicate brush strokes and high quality techniques details. see article attached for more detail and dates.
