BiographyEstablished by veterinarian Jean-Baptiste Huzard (1755-1838) and his wife Marie-Rosalie Huzard (1767-1849), Bouchard-Huzard was a printing house active in Paris from the late eighteenth century that specialized in the publication of veterinary and agricultural books. Mme Marie-Rosalie Huzard, one of the few women involved in printing in Paris in the nineteenth century, continued the Imprimerie et Librairie after her husband's death and was involved in the production of Francois-Edmond Pâris' 1841-1843 Essai sur la construction navale des peuples extra-européens or Essay on non-European naval architecture, which included 132 lithographs and engravings. The printery appears to have ceased around 1880.
