"Guerin-Meneville is the author of nearly 400 publications on insects. In particular, his work on the part devoted to insects in the Methodical Encyclopedia (1825), and especially his Iconography of the Regne Animal by Georges Cuvier 1829-1844, includes two volumes and 4,600 figures completing the work of Georges Cuvier (1769- 1832) and Pierre André Latreille (1762-1833).

From 1833 to 1838 he published with Achille Rémy Percheron (1797-1869) the Genera of Insects, incomplete and from 1833 to 1840 with Gaspard Joseph Martin Saint-Ange (1803-1888) the Elementary Treatise of Natural History ... (Two volumes). He also founded several magazines: the Zoology, Comparative Anatomy and Paleontology Shop (1830), the Zoological Review by the Cuvier Society (1838), the Revue et Magasin de Zoologie Pure et Appliquée (1849) and the Revue de Zoologie Sericulture (1863), a time when there was a great interest in French sericulture production.

From 1833 to 1839 he directed the Picturesque Dictionary of Natural History, reissued from 1843 to 1840 under the title New Classical Dictionary of Natural History. "
