Charles Basil Norton (1887-1968)
Norton went back to Australia around 1920, and worked for the Royal Australian Navy in Perth, before going to Sydney and working for the Commonwealth Government Line. In the 1930s he worked for a number of Sydney newspapers, making blocks and producing illustrations. From 1938 to 1954 he worked for 'Pix' magazine. He also freelanced. He had four children, including the well-known marine artist Frank Norton. C B Norton died in 1968.
