BiographyNathaniel Currier was born on 27 March 1813 at Roxbury, Massachusetts. He completed an apprenticeship with William S and John Pendleton of Boston, who established the first lithographic business in the United States. Currier became the most prolific publisher of lithographs. He married twice and had one son with his first wife Eliza West of Boston. He died on November 20, 1888 at home. 1834 published lithographs with his partner under the name Stodart & Currier. From 1835 - 1856 published lithographs under the name N. Currier. From 1857 publishied lithographs with his new partner under the name Currier & Ives.
