Wukun Waṉambi1962

Wukan Wanambil is a renowned artist from East Arnhem land, Australia. He is known for his works documenting the stories and ownership of the Yolnu people in Marrakulu, as part of the Saltwater project.

Wukan was awarded the Best Bark at the 1998 NATSIAA. He was also Highly Commended in the Telstra Awards 3D category in 2003. In 2004 he held his first single show at Raft Artspace in Darwin. He has also been involved in a number of projects including a commission with Sydney Opera House, the opening of the National Museum in Canberra, the Wukidi ceremony and the films 'Lonely Boy Richard', 'The Pilot's Funeral' and 'Dhakiyarr versus The King'.
