1875 the livery was established: black hulls, white superstructure and yellow funnels.

1912 The NZSC absorbs the Federal Steam Navigation Company: the Federal Steam Navigation ships retain their house flag.

1973 Both companies are absorbed into the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O Line).
