BiographyFinlay McLean (1895 - 1986) was born in Glasgow. He spent all of his working life in the merchant navy, serving in both world wars. The majority of his working life was on the Australian Coastal Service, with McIlwraith McEacharn limited. He was in command of the KATOOMBA during WWII, and afterwards, the KANIMBLA. He was chief officer on KANIMBLA's maiden voyage from Belfast in 1936.
