The Australian National Maritime Museum is Australia’s museum of the sea. A place to explore our relationship to the oceans, rivers and lakes around us and to dive deeper into the rich maritime heritage that binds us all. The Museum began collecting maritime artefacts long before it opened its doors in 1991. The National Maritime collection contains over 160,000 objects that cover a rich and diverse range of historic artefacts.
