DescriptionThese 21 greeting cards and envelopes were collected from a variety of shipping companies and vessels. This series of greeting cards featured the following companies the Australian National Line, Advall & Bozier Pty Ltd, Burns Philp & Company Limited, Hetherington Kingsbury Pty Ltd, La Compagnie Des Messageries Maritimes, RW Miller (Holdings ) Limited, Orient Overseas Line, Pacific International Lines, Pan Ocean Bulk Carriers Ltd, Ritch & Smith; and also included one postcard of a Californian motel; one blank card featuring shipyards in Hobart; and envelopes expressing greetings from Edithburgh, South Australia; Port Lincoln, South Australia; South West Rocks, New South Wales; Sea World, Surfers Paradise; Rainbow Beach, Queensland; and Tin Can Bay, Queensland. This archival collection was assembled by Alan Rice whilst serving as a merchant seaman in the Australian coastal trade.October - December 1966
