HistoryAnother boat I liked as a kid was Sid Goldfinch's "Lil Fox" outboard hydroplane in the late 70's, real nice looking boat, Sadly It was destroyed at the Kilo's in 1979 ( from memory) at lake Munmorah, We were at the timing marker when it happened, he was luck to survive the crash longtime observer One for Kamikaze. Sids " Lil Fox " This one finished up in Tassie after the Aus Championships down there early 70s another shot of lil' fox in the 1971 bridge to bridge, 47mins 34 secs. Sid had Big Fox - a twin BP Merc Jones tunnel that was wrecked in a blow over at StGMBC with Brian Gibbs driving. Thats Brian driving in the photo Chris. This boat was called Lil Fox and was powered by a single BP Merc. After selling this Sid built the black Jones hydro Lil Fox for an attempt on the world outboard speed record. The boat was first powered by a Twister IIX and then a carburretored 2.4 litre V6 Merc. After wrecking this boat at Munmorah, Sid retired from boat racing though he still operated his workshop at Sylvania until the mid 80s. run Lil Fox at Blowering Dam when the Old man ran there ( in 77
