HistoryAnother boat I liked as a kid was Sid Goldfinch's "Lil Fox" outboard hydroplane in the late 70's, real nice looking boat, Sadly It was destroyed at the Kilo's in 1979 ( from memory) at lake Munmorah, We were at the timing marker when it happened, he was luck to survive the crash

Sid had Big Fox - a twin BP Merc Jones tunnel that was wrecked in a blow over at StGMBC with Brian Gibbs driving. Thats Brian driving in the photo Chris. This boat was called Lil Fox and was powered by a single BP Merc. After selling this Sid built the black Jones hydro Lil Fox for an attempt on the world outboard speed record. The boat was first powered by a Twister IIX and then a carburretored 2.4 litre V6 Merc. After wrecking this boat at Munmorah, Sid retired from boat racing though he still operated his workshop at Sylvania until the mid 80s.
