DescriptionHMS OPAL served on the Australia Station from 1885 to 1890. This photograph of one of its officers, Frederick Vinny, was taken in Sydney just prior to its return to England in 1890. The corvette was broken up soon after its return. The photograph was taken by Kerry & Jones Photographers, 308 George Street , Sydney.
