It presents an attractive view of workers undertaking their duties and stresses that everyone has a role to play in the war. This poster was issued by the Industrial Incentive Division of the US Navy to motivate the public and increase war time productivity.HistoryThe demand put on American industries during World War II was immense as over ten million men were away at war. The government attempted to compensate this by attracting new workers into American factories. The admission of women into the workforce was motivated solely by these political and economic realties of the time. In July 1944, when the war was at its peak, over 19 million women were employed in jobs traditionally done by men.
Production posters emphasized the equal responsibility of soldiers and factory workers in the war campaign and between 1941 and 1945 production in the United States reached a tremendous level. American industry produced over 300, 00 planes, 124,000 ships and millions of other vehicles as part of the war campaign.
