DescriptionSouth Australian steamship SS WARRAWEE painted by Fred Dawson in 1914 when it was owned by the Coast Steamships Limited.HistorySS WARRAWEE was built in 1909 for the Gulf Steamship Company Limited, Port Adelaide, in 1913 it was purchased by Coast Steamships Limited. Under both companies it serviced the ports of South Australia, in particular in the ports of Spencer Gulf.
During WWII it was requistioned as a minesweeper by the Royal Australian Navy. In 1946 it was returned to its owners and to the South Australian coastal trade, it was sold and scrapped in 1953.
