DescriptionThis ship model shows the deep sea freighter SS NOLISEMENT and was made in Howden-on-Tyne, England.HistoryTom Morel's company Morel Ltd was active between 1919 and 1935 and the business acquired its first ships in 1921, the SS NOLISEMENT and SS ST ANDREWS.
SS NOLISEMENT was built by Northumberland Shipbuilding Company Ltd in 1928 at Howden-On-Tyne. Builder's models were made at shipyards to demonstrate to builders and ship clients what the ship would look like. The Morel Line of Cardiff ordered this ship constructed to carry cargoes of coal, phosphates and cereals. It was the second ship to be named NOLISEMENT by the Morel Line. It later served as the German GLUCKAUF and then as the Yugoslavian KUMROVEC before being scrapped in 1966.
