DescriptionRoyal Navy Razor made by Thomas Turner & Co. The razor belonged to Edwin John Hook, R.N., who served on HMS POWERFUL, the flagship of the Australia Station 1905-1911. He remained in Sydney after his service.HistoryHMS POWERFUL was the flag ship of the Royal Navy squadron of the Australia Station from 1905 to 1911. It was the flag ship at the time of the visit of the United States Fleet (The Great White Fleet) in 1908. During WWI it has most of its armament removed and served as a troop transport. After the war it was renamed IMPREGNABLE and coverted to a training ship. It was broked up in 1929.
