DescriptionA black and white photograph showing the Cunnamulla railway station, completed in 1898. The original station building burnt down in the late 1800's and was replaced by the present structure you see today which has one of the only three covered railway platforms left in Queensland HistoryThe Cunnamulla station was opened in 1898 and was the last stop on the Western Railway Line starting at Toowoomba. One of only three covered railway stations in Queendland remaining, the line is now closed to passenger trains.SignificanceThis image is a part of the Captain Robert McKilliam collection. Captain McKilliam worked for the Aberdeen White Star Line for 32 years and sailed aboard such famous clipper ships as SALAMIS and THERMOPYLAE. He moved to Sydney in 1913 where he served as Assistant Wharf Master on Darling Island.
