BiographyJohann Baptist Homann (1664-1724) was a leading German cartographer, appointed Imperial Geographer by Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI. After the his death and that of his son in 1730 his company continued under the name Hormann Heirs (the heirs of Hormann) and retained the Imperial Printing Priviledges.
