John Gordon Campbell

BiographyJohn Gordon Campbell joined the AIF on 27 October 1914 aged 31. Gordon served mainly with the 4th Battalion and was awarded the Military Medal in 1917 for his actions in heavy fighting on the Hindenburg Line near Bullecourt. Campbell returned to Australia on HMAT KHYBER and disembarked in Sydney 16 May 1919. Upon enlistment Campbell's next of kin is listed as his cousin Mrs Dora Tilley of Paddington, Sydney.

Campbell married in 1940 to Euphemia Wilson Stewart and had two sons, John Gordon Campbell and Charles Haxton Campbell.
